The Cleaning Process Of Injection Molding Screw Barrel

  Messages et commentaires

Used for hot runner cleaning
On this page, you will find instructions, precautions, proven methods, best practices, and quick tips for running AASALEAN through the hot runner channel.

Hot runner cleaning procedure: mold opening or closing method*Injection Molding Screw Barrel
The unfilled ASCLEAN cleaning compound grade (see grade below) can now be used to clean the hot runner system. The AASALEAN scavenging compound running through the hot runner channel combines with the residual materials and safely removes them, while leaving a minimum of AACLEAN residues.

Preventive measures, proven methods and best practices:

Unfilled AASALEAN can pass through the same gap as the resin being processed.
Filled AASALEAN grades (EX, PX2, and NF are generally not recommended for hot runner cleaning. For guidance on using filler grades for hot runner cleaning, please consult Sun Plastech Inc.).
External heating system: Raise the manifold temperature to 20°C – 30°C (35°F – 55°F) to improve flow. If running thermal resin, do not exceed the maximum safe working temperature of the material.
Internal heating system: Before using AASALEAN, please consult a cleaning process expert for technical assistance.
If possible, use a release agent to reduce the possibility of the material sticking to the mold surface.
Preparation: The temperature of the entire hot runner system must be within the use range of the AASALEAN purge compound grade to be used.
Clear compound grade temperature range
Upward 170-300°C (340-570°F)
E 160-300°C (320-570°F)
U 180-330°C (355-625°F)*
*If materials between 330-360°C (625-680°F) are used, local ventilation is required.
Purge the hot runner channel with the mold plate open*
When using the AASALEAN cleaning composite mechanical grade to clean the hot runner system with the mold plate open, please follow the step-by-step instructions below:

After thoroughly cleaning the Injection Molding Screw Barrel with AASALEAN detergent, put the nozzle in the mold.
Open the mold plate.
Set up a safe and approved surface to collect decontaminated materials.
Confirm that the mold safety door is closed.
Add enough AASALEAN purification compound to the hopper to fill the bucket approximately ½ full.
Start extruding the AASALEAN purification compound through the hot runner system at a moderate speed. Increase the screw speed to the maximum safe level for maximum cleaning. Once AASALEAN has sufficiently flowed through all gates, the injection injection (air injection) is performed with the mold plate open.
Visually check the purge for color and/or carbon contamination.
If the contamination still exists, repeat steps 5 to 7 until the AASALEAN purification compound is visually free of color and/or carbon contamination and returns to a clean appearance.
Use the maximum safe screw speed to clear all remaining AASALEAN. Adjust the temperature in the barrel and hot runner to the processing conditions of the next resin to be processed.
Use the maximum safe screw speed to flush the system with the next resin to be processed until the next resin is visually free of AASALEAN cleaning compound.
Use normal production settings to resume production.

When using the AASALEAN cleaning composite mechanical grade to clean the hot runner system with the mold plate closed, please follow the step-by-step instructions below:

After thoroughly cleaning the screw and barrel with AASALEAN, put the nozzle in the mold.
Confirm that the mold safety door is closed.
In order to reduce the possibility of AASALEAN cleaning composite parts stuck in the hot runner cavity, reduce the cooling time and spray the cavity with a release agent.
Remove the packaging and maintain pressure and speed. Use short shot molding to inject AASALEAN to remove the compound (Use only the required injection volume to safely remove the part from the cavity-the injection volume does not exceed 90%.)
Eject the parts immediately, while they are still hot.
Visually inspect the parts for color and/or carbon contamination until the parts are clean.
If the contamination still exists, repeat steps 4 to 6 until the AASALEAN purification compound is visually free of color and/or carbon contamination and returns to a clean appearance. Use the same method as above to clear all remaining AASALEAN. Adjust the temperature of the barrel and hot runner to the processing conditions of the next resin to be processed.
Flush the system with the next resin to be processed and mold the part until the AASALEAN purifying compound is no longer visible in the next resin.
Use normal production settings to resume production.

This cleaning procedure can make the Single Screw Extruder Screw Barrel better generate.
