Fiber Closure Manufacturers Share Fiber Transceiver Troubleshooting

  Messages et commentaires

When we use fiber optic transceivers, we inevitably encounter some problems. How do we solve these common problems? The following Fiber Closure manufacturers will introduce you to everyone.

1, the power indicator is not lit
power failure.

2, the link light is not bright

The failure may be due to the following reasons:

Check if the fiber optic cable is disconnected.

Check if the fiber loss is too large and exceed the receiving range of the device.

Check that the fiber interface is properly connected. The local TX is connected to the remote RX and the remote TX is connected to the local RX.

Check whether the fiber interface is properly inserted into the device interface, whether the jumper type matches the device interface, whether the device type matches the fiber, and whether the device transmission length matches the distance.

3, the circuit link light is not bright

The failure may be due to the following reasons:

Check if the network cable is turned on.

Check if the connection type matches: Devices such as network cards and routers use straight-through lines to use crossover lines, switches, hubs, etc.

Check if the device transfer rate matches.

4. The network packet loss is serious: the possible faults are as follows:

The electrical port of the transceiver is connected to the network device, or the duplex mode of the two device interfaces does not match. Twisted pair and RJ-45 heads have problems and have been tested.

Fiber connection problem, whether the jumper is aligned with the device interface, and whether the pigtail matches the jumper and coupler type.

Whether the fiber loss exceeds the sensitivity of the device.

5. The optical transceiver cannot communicate after the two ends are connected.

The fiber is reversed and the fiber connected to TX and RX is reversed.

The RJ45 interface is not properly connected to the external device (please note that the straight through and the splice) fiber optic interface (ceramic ferrule) does not match. This fault is mainly reflected in 100M transceivers with photoelectric mutual control functions, such as APC ferrules. The transceiver of the PC ferrule will not communicate properly, but the non-optical intercom transceiver will not be affected. 6, time lapse and time phenomenon:

It may be that the optical path attenuation is too large. At this time, the optical power of the receiving end can be measured by an optical power meter. If it is close to the receiving sensitivity range, it can be judged that the optical path failure is in the range of 1 to 2 dB.

The switch connected to the transceiver may be faulty. In this case, the switch is replaced by a PC, that is, two transceivers are directly connected to the PC, and both ends are connected to PING. If the switch does not exist, it can be determined that the switch is a fault of the switch.

It may be that the transceiver is faulty. In this case, connect both ends of the transceiver to the PC (not through the switch). After PING with no problems at both ends, transfer a large file (100M) from one end to the other and observe its speed. If the speed is very slow (files smaller than 200M are sent for more than 15 minutes), you can determine that the transceiver is faulty.

6, after a period of communication, when the machine is down, that is, communication is impossible, and it can be restored normally after restarting.

This phenomenon is usually caused by a switch. The switch performs CRC error detection and length checking on all received data. It checks that the packet with the error will be discarded and forwards the correct packet. However, there are some erroneous packets in this process that were not detected in the CRC error detection and length check. Such packets will not be sent during the forwarding process and will not be discarded. They will be accumulated in the dynamic cache. (buffer), can never be sent out, and when the buffer is full, it will cause the switch to crash. Because restarting the transceiver or restarting the switch at this point can restore communication to normal, users often think this is a problem with the transceiver.
