There are several types of faucets. Conventional faucets include flip-tops, push-types, etc. Today, follow the kitchen faucets manufacturers to see how to repair the leaking faucet.
Prepare things: screwdriver, soaked oil, pliers or adjustable wrench and the pad to be replaced.
Faucet repair process:
1. Close the inlet valve. Remove the small screws on the top or back of the faucet handle to remove the handle that is attached to the faucet body. Some screws are hidden under metal buttons, plastic buttons or plastic sheets that are snapped or screwed into the handle. Simply flip the button open and you will see the handle screw on the top. If necessary, use some WP-40 immersion lubricant to loosen the screws.
2. Remove the handle and look at the parts of the faucet. Use large pliers or adjustable wrench to remove the packing nut, be careful not to leave scratches on the metal. Rotate the valve core or shaft in the same direction as when you turned the faucet to unscrew them.
3. Remove the screws that secure the washer. If necessary, use a saturated oil to loosen the screws. Look at the screws and spools and replace them with new ones if they are damaged.
4. Replace the old gasket with a completely new gasket. New gaskets that are perfectly matched to the old gaskets usually allow the faucet to no longer drip. You should also note that the old washer is still flat with a bevel and is replaced with the same new washer. Only for cold water planning gaskets will swell greatly when there is hot water flowing and then block the water outlet, making the hot water flow slower. Some washers can work in both hot and cold water, but you have to make sure that the gasket you bought for replacement is exactly the same as it used to be.
5.Secure the new gasket to the valve plug and install the parts from the faucet from the head. Rotate the spool clockwise. After the spool is in place, install the packing nut from the head. Be careful not to leave the wrench scratched on the metal.
6. Install the handle from the head and replace the button or disc. Open the water supply from the head to see if there is still a leak.
